I thought this would be another sad "I Hate Runescape" submission, but, even if it is, it was a fucking funny way to do it! I LMFAO'd throughout the whole cartoon and I've always thought the ashes did have some striking resemblance to cocaine. O_o

What difference would it make for someone to and play something like WoW? Does playing "better games" prevent you from having glasses and smiling like a geek on the computer? This is not a "highly accurate" representation of the game, it's more of a highly accurate representation of how to fail on the the game itself and praise inappropriate behavior such as randomly hating on people who haven't done anything at all, scamming players because you are too lazy to earn your own worth of items, and lying to people about an item because there's no better way to sell nooby crap. You're not obligated to play the game for a straight ten hours a day, and as a matter of fact I do quit the game when I'm bored from time to time. You CAN go out with friends, do homework, and have a life outside of Runescape. You just need to know how to balance it out on in my opinion. So there's no need to obliterate the game from existence!

Don't get me wrong though, I found the flash a bit funny, but that's pretty much all that I liked about it despite the crappy animations..

Finally, out of all of these reviews, an intellegent point of view. I immediately respect you for this.

To start off, my original thesis concluding this flash roughly equates to this: "No matter how much you play RS, your endgame will always be same, regardless how long or how hard you've played, you'll find yourself either breaking rules or being annoyed by the imperative community, (Or, if you hit the X button unsatisfied, boredom :p) thus quitting"

Now, there is no difference between playing runescape and playing WoW (well, other than the mega-huge WoW installation period) because both fall under the genre of MMORPGs. My realization of my hatred towards the poor execution of this genre (grind, fight, grind, -$5, pvp a little, grind, -$5, grind, grind, -$5, quit) has developed throughout the years and this Flash animation was one of my ways of venting that early frustration in hopes of saving even one soul from bellyflopping into this abyss.

Now, I do admit there probobly was/is/willbe a good MMORPG, however, these specific game developers seem bent on making money on turning people's boredom into addiction and don't want to focus on actually improving any fun factor. (however, anything can be fun when you have ten friends to accompany you, well, except Dragonball Evolution... better not talk about that...)

Personally, i find sticking to simple genres such as FPSs, basic MMOs, RTSs, or singleplayer RPGs (oblivion, fallout) deem themselves most appropriate for most bored people.

There is one example however of an MMORPG that I find myself playing one month every two years. Puzzle Pirates. This game contains absolute minimal grinding and actually has many characteristics pertaining to skill. One can play poker and gain a massive fortune, or one can actually improve their skill in a specific puzzle and make good money specializing in that, or, as I did once, figure out the immersive in-game, entirely player-run economy and form a monopoly, toppling all others of the same type.

No other MMO that I have come across shares those characteristics.

In the end, my theology is; why "click click click click click click x9000" when you can "click, left shift, right click, [use brain]" and leave with no great urge to "GAIN ONE LEVEL" or "DO ONE MORE QUEST" and rather just "play a game"

That really made me laugh, but free to play on Runescape SUCKS. It's not bad though for a game that doesn't require any downloading. =o

The problem is not with the game, but rather, your shitty internet and/or shitty computer itself! WTF was that a random event that killed you while you lost your connection? Well too bad, it's a shame that your luck went to shit, but you can't blame the game for your loss. I've also observed that you are pissed at not being able to log out after ten seconds of combat. Well, obviously that condition serves a purpose. Why don't you try killing a person in PvP for his stuff only to fail when the motherfucker logs out? If people could log out whenever they could in the midst of combat, then there would be no danger of fighting monsters.. (Especially the big bosses) There wouldn't even be a point in having PvP if everybody could just log out on the spot. And before someone would take the time to reply to my comment and say something like "Chill dude, it's just a parody.. If you don't like it then GTFO.", I'd just like to point out that the reviews are for people who want to post their opinions over submissions and the matters that concern what was in the submissions themselves. Yeah, I like Runescape.. and in my opinion it's not exactly the game that sucks, but the submission itself for failing to give enough logical reasons to convince me why'd the game would supposedly suck. I am open-minded to criticisms to Runescape, but when people use their precious little time to actually come up with a flash cartoon full of bullshit after all their efforts to actually make a point where they obviously fail like this, I just have to speak up.. Enough said..

"Hi, i'm a faggot. I think you're a faggot. Runescape is awesome. You suck at flash. Your internet sucks. Let me insult you some more over a video game. Let me not point out anything new or interesting, and more or less repeat what has been said in the last hundred comments. Let me waste more time writing this response."

I love playing Runescape. I just like the way the game is designed to have so much stuff to do with sandbox gameplay similar to GTA. You can just basically do whatever the fuck you want. Level grinding is common to MMORPG's. The concept of leveling up will always require exp grinding, no shit Sherlock! Either you don't play games that require leveling up or you're just a lazy shit yourself. The purpose of having levels that take forever to level up once you've reached high levels is to prevent everybody to become way too easily powerful. There's no point in easy max level ups because that'd ruin the competitive spirit of a game. (Example of this would be in PvP: No noobs to kill, and no pros to fear.) I know that not all people will love the game, but honestly, you're just a fucking hater. Plus it's not like you'd be obligated to become a no lifer addict nerd in order to play the game. So what if someone goes out and plays like ten hours a day? Is that person any fucking different from someone playing a more generally popular MMORPG such as WoW who also plays the gane daily with roughly the same amount of time?
